Tobacco Operation

Dupree Farms has been growing tobacco for over 40 years.  Roger began growing tobacco on 25 acres while in college.  In 1995, they progressed from rack barns to box barns.  They now utilize 37 box barns for curing.  In 1998 they began using mechanical harvesters which helped reduce labor cost significantly.  Today the tobacco operation is fully mechanized including the setter, harvesters, and green leaf loading system.  All of these advances now allow them to grow over 400 acres of flue cured tobacco.
